Cops in Brooklyn shot dead a man who pointed what may have been a toy gun at them Monday afternoon. The wounded man was rushed to Coney Island Hospital, where he died.

Backup catcher Francisco Cervelli got a trip to the hospital for his birthday. Cervelli, who turned 24 Saturday, suffered a concussion when he was drilled on the batting helmet by a Zech Zinicola fastball in the third inning against Toronto.
